What It’s Like to Work with Me,Your Jackson Hole Photographer

When you are choosing a photographer, I think it is important to know a little bit about them. I want to tell you a little bit about myself so you can understand why I chose to be a family photographer in Jackson Hole. I am local to Jackson Hole for about 13 years now and know the area very well. I was born and raised just 90 miles from here. When you are thinking about hiring a family photographer, it is good to choose somebody who knows the locations that are going to give you those bright and airy photos that you are looking for.

Working with Kids for Family Photo Sessions

I am a mom of young kiddos and I love kids! I work very well with and have a lot of fun with them. I am great at engaging with children on their level and encouraging them to engage with me as well. Building trust and having a conversation with them about their interests creates a comfort level that allows them to open up and be themselves.

Once your child is comfortable with me the fun really begins! I start sessions with more posed photos with the whole family. These are great family photos with everybody looking at the camera. This brings the family together and forms a trust with your kids because they are with mom and dad and mom and dad trust me.

After the family photos are done, I like to go and do more candid shots. I let the kids play and have more of a fun and engaging session. Your child’s personality comes out and I can really capture it in these photos that you will cherish forever. The photos are light, bright, timeless, and elegant.

What to Wear for your Family Photos

I love to see families wearing brighter colors, light colors, whites, beiges, creams, sage greens, and neutral pastels. If you are a mama and you love a beautiful, long elegant dress, those are fun and beautiful! A nice blouse with a pair of light jeans and cowboy boots are also a good choice.

I always encourage my clients to dress light in color. As a photographer who specializes in bright, airy, timeless photos, the light colors create the images that you see on my website, in my portfolio, and on my Instagram.
